Conclusion on classification

Although on the basis of the data and the discussion the substance would not require a classification for hazards to the environment, it has been decided to classify the substance as acute aquatic toxic, category 1 and chronic aquatic toxic, category 1 (M-factor in both cases is 1). The reason for this precautionary approach is, that an important component in the UVCB substance, namely the fatty acids, tall-oil, reaction products with triethylenetetramine have been classified by other registrants of this substance, accordingly and this component is present in this UVCB substance at more than 25% in sum. Therefore, the registrant proposes to also classify this substance, fatty acids, tall oil, reaction products with maleic anhydride and triethylenetetramine as acute aquatic toxic, category 1 (M = 1) and chronic aquatic toxic, category 1 (M = 1), in line with rules on mixtures as defined in CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008).
