Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2006-06-22 to 2006-09-13
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:

Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
signed 2005-06-09
Type of method:
other: metal block method
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
>= 300 °C
Sublimation:
no
Remarks on result:
other: no melting up to decomposition temperature

In the duplicate definitive determinations, the samples darkened noticeably from approximately 300 °C, with no sign of melting. This observation was indicative of decomposition.

Conclusions:
The melting temperature was not determinable as DIGIRENA SA TEMABF4 anhydrous decomposed at temperatures above approximately 300 °C without melting.

Description of key information

The test item decomposes at a temperature >= 300 °C without melting.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
