Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is an organic substance or mixture containing chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C
Justification for type of information:
The substance shows loss of water/solvent between 25 and 210°C following by a series of endothermic events between 210 and 265°C with a final exothermic effect betweeb 287 and 362°C (onset 232.7°C, Entalpy 34.6 J/g).
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:

Description of key information

Waiving - the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is an organic substance or mixture containing chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the considerations indicated in the attached report no classification for explosive properties has been warranted under CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008).
