Additional information

The substance is characterized by a water solubility of 1655 mg/L (at 20 °C), a log Koc of 2.18 and a Henry´s law constant of 6.23 m3Pa/mol. Based on the high water solubility and low to moderate log Koc the substance will preferentially distribute in the water compartment but will also partly bind on organic matter of soils and sediment. Some primary degradation through hydrolysis was identified for the substance depending on temperature and pH. The hydrolysis half-life decreased with decreasing pH. At pH 9 and 7 a half-life of 22.9 and 1536 h was determined respectively (20 °C) while at pH 4 the substance is considered stable. Furthermore, no rapid biodegradation by microorganisms is expected as an appropriate OECD guideline (301 D) study identified (approx. 24% after 28 d). Due to the low Henry´s law constant the evaporation of the substance to the atmosphere and subsequent transport and distribution through the atmospheric compartment is considered to be low.
