Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the ready biodegradability of the test substance in freshwater according to OECD Guideline 301D (Ready Biodegradability: Closed Bottle Test), in compliance with GLP. The test substance was treated with activated sludge, domestic, non-adapted under aerobic conditions. The reference substance benzoic acid, sodium salt was biodegraded as expected. The test substance was tested at 5 mg/L concentration and the observed biodegradation was 70-80% in 28 d. Under the study conditions, the substance was considered to be readily biodegradable (BASF, 1997).
