Conclusions:
In the present study conducted according to OECD guideline 109 (2002) the relative density of Compimide 183 was determined using a gas comparison pycnometer. The relative density (compared to water at 4°C) was determined to be 1.32.

Additional information

The density of solids is determined with a calibrated gas comparison pycnometer at a temperature of 20 °C ± 0.01 °C. A pressurized gas (He) is expanded from a pressurized reference chamber into a sample chamber in which the test item is placed under atmospheric pressure.

The volume of the sample chamber (24.9 cm³) as well as the volume of the reference chamber (21.3 cm³) are exactly known. The free volume of the sample chamber into which the gas is expanded can be calculated by the ideal gas law. With the free gas volume of the sample chamber, the volume of the test item in the sample chamber can be calculated by subtracting the free gas volume from the total chamber volume. The pressurizing-expansion cycles were performed until 5 subsequent volume measurements had a relative standard deviation (RSD) of s 0.2 %.

Two tests with different amounts of the test item were performed to determine the relative density D420 at a temperature of 20 °C ± 0.01 °C. The mean density of the test item at 20 °C is 1.319815 g/cm³ .The relative density D420 is calculated by dividing the density of the test item by the density of water at 4°C (0.999975O g/cm³). The relative density is D420= 1.32.

According to OECD Test Guidelines 109 (2012) and Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.3., the relative density D420of the test item Compimide 183 at 20 °C i 0.01 °C (compared to water at 4 °C) is D420 = 1.32.
