Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Abiotic degradation:

TBEAES is hydrolytically stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 in a tier 1 study according to OECD 111 and GLP principles. The half-life time at 25°C is > 1 year.

Biodegradation:

TBEAES is not readily biodegradable under the conditions of a Modified Sturm Test, according to OECD guideline 301 B and GLP principles.

Adsorption/desorption:

Assessment of the sorption potential of TBEAES is based on data available for the anion and the cation from a batch equilibrium test according to OECD 106 and GLP principles. For the anion, adsorption was extremely low and no KFoc could be calculated. For chemical safety assessment of the anion, it is assumed that no adsorption occurs, and therefore the Koc is set at 1 L/kg which is the minimum value for this parameter in EUSES. The geomean KFoc for the cation is 280 L/kg. As 1/n values for all three soils are >0.8, the KFoc value is used as a standard Koc value for chemical safety assessment of the cation.
