Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Since ignition did not occur within two minutes, the test item AF-317should be considered as not flammable (for EU regulations) and as non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), respectively.

No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.

Description of key information

non flammable

not pyrophoric

no flammability on contact with water

not self-heating

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

No ignition occurred in preliminary screening test, substance is not flammable, no burning rate test required.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties, flammability in contact with water and self-heating are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC, and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification: No propagation of burning in a test according to EU Method A.10. Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity, flammability on contact with water and self-heating are not expected.
