PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
PBT assessment does not apply
Justification:

This substance has a very low toxicological profile.

It is an inorganic salt that is fully soluble in water. There is no evidence of metabolism and if absorbed it is quickly excreted through the urine.

It does not bioaccumulate and it is not toxic.

There is no evidence of degradation in the environment and persistance cannot be excluded. However even if persistance is a possible property of the substance, the low toxicity and the absence of bioaccumulation, excludes any possible concern.

Likely routes of exposure:

There is no possibility of exposure.

This substance is imported as solid and incorporeted into a polymeric matrix in solid form and exclusively in dedicated facilities where fully control of exposure for workers is applied. There is no discharge into the environment. Even in case of accidental spillage, wastewater is collected and treated in a sewage plant before discharge into the envronment.
