The evaluation of the vapour pressure was done with the reproducible weight loss values above ≥ 1 µg/min and with the results above 60 °C.

 In the plot of the log νT of the test substance as function of the reciprocal temperatures the coefficient of correlation (r²) was 0.9821.

In the regression curve for calibration, the coefficient of correlation (r²) was 0.9825.

Using the resulting equations (details in report), the following vapour pressure result was obtained.

1.22 Pa x 10 1t 20 °C

 

Conclusions:
The isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method was applied for the determination of the vapour pressure of Solvent Blue 79B.
A value of the vapour pressure of the test item was determined using the data obtained between 60 °C and 100 °C. The vapour pressure of the test item was calculated (mean of three determinations) as: 1.22 Pa 10 ^1 at 20 °C
Executive summary:

The purpose of the study was to determine the vapour pressure of the test substance using the isothermal thermogravimetric effusion method in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 104 and EU Method A.9 under GLP conditions.

The evaporation rates of the test substance at elevated temperatures and ambient pressure were determined by monitoring the weight loss. Following a pre-test the main test was carried out above 60 and below 100 °C.

The test substance was added to the glass plate. The plate was placed in the TGA instrument. The weight loss of the test substance was measured continuously as a function of time at different temperatures (three replicates): Start temperature: 60 °C; Isothermal interval: 5 minutes; Temperature increase: 10 °C interval with a ramp of 10°C/min; End temperature: 100 °C

The vapour pressure of the test substance at 20 °C (293 K) was calculated to be 1.22 Pa 10 ^1 at 20 °C (mean of three determinations).
