The test item was formed into a particle train. A hot flame from a gas burner with a diameter of about 6 mm is used to ignite the pile at one end. In the preliminary screening test, the substance melts and decomposes. After removal of the gas burner the flame does not propagate along the test train. According to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 that is pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 the test item Aesculin has not to be considered as flammable.
