Additional information

Gastric emptying in mice, rats and monkeys was inhibited by the test substance given orally at 2.5, 1.0, and 0.2 mg/kg body weight. Subcutaneous dosing of 1.0 mg/kg bw also inhibited gastric emptying in mice and rats (Wright et al., 1979). Furthermore the test substance has an antibronchoconstrictor activity in guinea-pigs. In vitro, the test substance inhibits the activity of cyclic 3',5'-AMP phosphodiesterase. Finally, the test substance was tested in vivo in dogs and cats to determine the effect on the cardiovascular or respiratory system. It was concluded that the test substance has little effect on the cardiovascular or respiratory systems (Farrell, 1970a).
