Executive summary:

The Ready Biodegradability of Homofarnesol (3E, 7E) was determined by the Manometric Respirometry Test.

Homofarnesol (3E, 7E) undergoes 76% biodegradation after 28 days in the test conditions. The 10 -day window criterion is also fulfilld (27% biodegradation on day 3 and 67% on day 13).

At the test concentration, Homofarnesol (3E, 7E) did inhibit the intrinsic respiration of the inoculum by more than 20% on the first day of the test. Toxicity towards the inoculum cannot therefore be excluded.

Homofarnesol (3E, 7E) should be regarded as readily biodegradable according to this test.
