Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Burning time:
< 45 s

Any other information on results incl. tables

The substance can be easily ignited with a gas burner and burns with a sooty flame. The burning times over a distance of 10mm were 36, 46, 49, 37, 39 and 46 seconds. The burning process appears to take place in the upper layer of the powder pile only, the lower layer of the pile remains unburnt.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (flammable solids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance is considered highly flammable because three out of six of the measured burning times were below 45 seconds.
Executive summary:

The test was conducted according to the A10 method and the time measured for 10 mm piles of substance to burn. The subatnce is easily ignited with a gas burner, burning with a sooty flame and burns rapidly in the upper layer of the pile only. Half of the measured burning times were below 45 seconds and the substance is considered highly flammable. The risk phrase R11: Highly flammable is applicable.
