Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification
The aquatic toxicity information of Geranyl Isobutyrate MCS is derived from read across from Citronellyl butyrate. The EC50 value of algae and Daphnia magna is > 0.16 and 0.41 mg/L, respectively, and of which the Daphnia has the lowest acute value. Since the EC50 value is ≤ 1 mg/L, the substance needs to be classified as Acute Cat. 1 (H400) according to EU CLP (EC No. 1272/2008 and its amendments: Table 4.1.0; a).
There is only one chronic algae value available which is the EC10 of 0.083 mg/l. According to EU CLP Figure 4.1.1, the chronic classification has to be determined based on this chronic value according to Table 4.1.0, (b) ii (as the substance is readily biodegradable) and results in Chronic 2.
As only one chronic value is available the chronic classification needs to be derived from both chronic information and acute information from the other trophic level and the most stringent outcome should be leading.
The EC50 value for Daphnia magna is ≤ 1 mg/L and in combination with the log Kow >=4 (despite the substance is readily biodegradable) the substance needs to be classified as Chronic 1. This is the most stringent outcome.
Overall, it can be concluded that the substance needs to be classified for environmental hazards as Acute Cat. 1 (H400) and Chronic Cat. 1 (H410) according to EU CLP (EC No. 1272/2008 and its amendments).
