Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
31 January 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Version / remarks:
2008
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
-Storage conditions: Room temperature.
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

In the preliminary test the test material could not be ignited. Based on the results of the preliminary test, no main test was performed.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of this study, the test material is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10 under GLP conditions.

A preliminary screening test was performed and no propagation of combustion of the test material within 2 minutes was observed. This test was perrformed two times. Since the test material could not be ignited in the preliminary test, no main test was performed.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Description of key information

Under the conditions of this study, the test material is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The flammability of the test material was investigated in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10 under GLP conditions. The study was awarded a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

A preliminary screening test was performed and no propagation of combustion of the test material within 2 minutes was observed. This test was perrformed two times. Since the test material could not be ignited in the preliminary test, no main test was performed.

Under the conditions of this study, the test material is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.
