The test item results do not fulfill the criteria of Class 4.3 "Substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases" of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, because a maximum rate of gas emission of less than 1 l/(kg-h) was determined. On the basis of the test results and according to the criteria specified on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling, the test item is also not a substance, which in contact with water, emits flammable gases.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Remarks:
according to CLP 1272/2008 as amended
Conclusions:
It was concluded from the study observations that the test substance will not emit flammable gases upon contact with water.
Executive summary:

It was concluded from the study observations that the test substance will not emit flammable gases upon contact with water.

Description of key information

The test item results do not fulfill the criteria of Class 4.3 "Substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases" of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, because a maximum rate of gas emission of less than 1 l/(kg-h) was determined. On the basis of the test results and according to the criteria specified on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling, the test item is also not a substance, which in contact with water, emit flammable gases.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Not Class 4.3 under the UN TDG-Packing Group and Not Hazard Class "Substances and mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases" under the UN-GHS/CLP category.

The substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item results does not fulfill the criteria of Class 4.3 "Substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases" of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, because a maximum rate of gas emission of less than 1 l/(kg-h) was determined. On the basis of the test results and according to the criteria specified on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling, the test item is also not a substance, which in contact with water, emit flammable gases.
