Key result
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
Test item did not vapourise or decompose between -40° and 300 °C

The measured estimation of the results are dispayed in the "attached backgroud material".

The DSC for decomposition graph (figure 1) shows that 1 weak exothermic peak is observed between 40°C and 150°C.

A second measure was done to better determine the baseline.

With regards the DSC for boiling point (figure 2), the graph shows no ebullition peak until 300°C. Only 2 significat picks were observed that my be considered artefacts.

Please, see full report for details.

Conclusions:
The test item Calcium Zin salts of Oligomer of Rosin did not vaporize or decompose from -40°C up to 300°C.
Executive summary:

The boiling and decomposition temperature of calcium zinc salts of oligomers of rosin was performed in accordance with OECD Guideline No 103 “Boiling Point” (July 1995). The Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) method was used. Since the test item is not pure, a range is best to characterize it. The DSC method was chosen and adapted to specifically determine an absence of vaporization of the test material and a decomposition. The results of the experiment shows:

- DSC for boiling point: no ebullition was observed (endothermic peaks) until 300°C

- DSC for decomposition: 1 weak exothermic peak was observed between 40°C and 150°C.

Please, see full report for details.

Description of key information

The boiling and decomposition temperature of calcium zinc salts of oligomers of rosin was determined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry and according to OECD guideline 103. The test item did not vaporize or decompose from -40°C up to 300°C.
