First-aid measures

General advice: First aider needs to protect himself. Move out of dangerous area. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

If inhaled: Move the victim to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Call a physician immediately.
In case of skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Obtain medical attention.
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
If swallowed: Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Specific hazards during fire-fighting: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as Carbon dioxide (CO2), Carbon monoxide (CO).

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Further information: Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. The danger areas must be delimited and identified using relevant warning and safety signs.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions: Should not be released into the environment. Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water. Do not let product enter drains.

Methods for cleaning up:
Small spillage: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.
Large spillage: Dam up. Large spills should be collected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal.

Handling and storage

Use product only in closed system. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Avoid contact of the substance.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Hygiene measures: When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep only in the original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs

Exposure controls / personal protection

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Eye protection: Depending on the risk, wear sufficient eye protection (safety glasses with side protection or goggles, and if necessary, face shield.)

Hand protection: Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous sub-stance and specific toplace of work. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifica-tions of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
Take note of the information given by the producer concern-ing permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

Long-term exposure: butyl-rubber

Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.
Gloves must be rinsed thoroughly after use.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concen-tration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the
specific work-place.

Respiratory protection: Protective mask. Use respirator when performing operations involving potential exposure to vapour of the product.
ABEK-filter, Short term only

General Protective measures: Do not inhale vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Hazardous reactions: Incompatible with bases. Water reactive.

Conditions to avoid: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid: Water. Strong bases. Strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: When handled and stored appropriately, no dangerous decomposition products are known
In case of fire, hazardous gases may be formed.

Disposal considerations

Product: If recycling is not practicable, dispose of in compliance with local regulations. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant.

Contaminated packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste han-dling site for recycling or disposal.
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
