Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Version / remarks:
EC Regulation No.440/2008 - Annex A.10 “FLAMMABILITY (SOLIDS)”
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The substance is formed into an unbroken strip or powder train about 250 mm long and a preliminary screening test performed to determine if, on ignition by a flame, propagation by burning with flame or smouldering occurs. If propagation over 200 mm of the train occurs within a specified time then a full test programme to determine the burning rate is carried out.
GLP compliance:
no
Other quality assurance:
ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)

Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

Phenomena and results from two independent preliminary screening tests, were identical as following:

- the sample was not ignited within 2 min;

It can be ascertained that the sample is not a highly flammable solid based on the results of the preliminary screening test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The sample is not a highly flammable solid.
