Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

A Buehler test was conducted using guinea pig. The test substance was applied topically under occlusion in the induction doses (1/week for 3 weeks) and topical challenge dose 1 week after the final induction. Animals were observed 24h after the challenge. Very slight erythema seen in 1 test animal at 1%: reaction not greater than seen among naive controls challenged with test material at 1%. It was concluded that the test substance was not sensitising to skin.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Study using the Buehler method was available on the analogous substance Distillates (petroleum), straight-run middle (EC: 265-044-7). A similar absence of contact sensitising activity is predicted for Renewable Diesel.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion

No information available.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results obtained for the analogous substance, Distillates (petroleum), straight-run middle (EC: 265-044-7) Renewable Diesel will not fulfil the criteria for classification for this endpoint. Renewable Diesel is not expected to be sensitising to skin.
