In the DSC-measurements the test item 2,4-Bismaleimidotoluene showed an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 160-190 °C. An exothermic effect could be observed in the temperature range of 210 - 310 °C with an energy of approximately -180 J/g. A second exothermal effect occurred in the temperature range of 470 to >500 °C with a decomposition energy greater -230 J/g.

Conclusions:
Based on the results of the performed test and on the information of OECD guideline 113, within a DSC measurement an endothermic peak is regarded as melting point of the substance whereas an exothermic peak is regarded as decomposition of the substance. Thus, the substance is considered to melt in a range between 160-190 °C under the conditions of the test.
