Melting point / melting range // boiling point / boiling range: Differential scanning calorimetry

The DSC measurement in an aluminium crucible with a hole showed a endothermal effect in the temperature range of 80 – 255 °C, directly followed by an exothermal effect (260 – 470 °C). After the measurement up to a final temperature of 500 °C the test item was a black solid. The results of the DSC measurements are summarized in Table1.

Under consideration of the result from the DSC measurement and the visual inspection of the test item after the measurement it was concluded that the test item had no melting point and no boiling point at atmospheric conditions. Decomposition started at approx. 260 °C.

Executive summary:

The test itemhad no melting point and no boiling point at atmospheric conditions. Decomposition started at approx. 260 °C.
