Using the helium pycnometer method, the density of the barium sulfonate test substance was obtained at room temperature (approximately 22°C). The sample masses used ranged from 1.2 to 2.3 grams. The overall mean density result for the three samples was 1.0578 ± 0.0092 g/cm3 (1057.8 ± 9.2 kg/m3). The results of the density determinations are presented in Table below.

Relative density can be calculated. Reference density is water density at 4 °C ( 0.999975 g/cm3):

D22/4 = ((1.0578 g/cm3) / (0.999975 g/cm3)) = 1.0578

Conclusions:
The overall mean density result for the three samples was 1.0578 ± 0.0092 g/cm3 (1057.8 ± 9.2 kg/m3) at 22 °C. The relative density D22/4 can be calculated as 1.0578.
Executive summary:

This study was performed in accordance with GLP, OECD guideline 109 and US EPA OPPTS 830.7300.

The overall mean density result for the three barium sulfonate test samples was 1.0578 ± 0.0092 g/cm3 (1057.8 ± 9.2 kg/m3) at 22 °C. The relative density D22/4 can be calculated as 1.0578.
