Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Result : < -20°C

The sample was held at -20°C for about 3 hours, only viscosity of the material increased, no crystallization or freezing was observed.

Conclusions:
The freezing point of 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) was determined to be <-20°C in a test according to the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A1 and OECD Test Guideline 102.
Executive summary:

The freezing point of 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) was determined in a study which was inaccordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A1 and OECD Test Guideline 102. This study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria for assessing data quality set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) sample was held at -20°C for 3 hours and no crystallization or freezing was observed, only viscosity of the material increased. The freezing point was therefore determined to be <-20°C.

Description of key information

The freezing point of 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) was determined in a study in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A1 and OECD Test Guideline 102 and found to be <-20°C.

The substance was placed in temperature controlled jacketed glassware and cooled by a refrigerator unit circulating silicone oil. In this method, the sample is stirred gently and continuously during cooling and the temperature is measured at suitable intervals. As soon as the temperature remains constant for a few readings or crystals are observed in the sample, the temperature is recorded as the freezing point. The temperature range of the equipment was -20°C to 150°C and this method has an estimated accuracy of ± 0.5°C.

The 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) sample was held at -20°C for 3 hours and no crystallization or freezing was observed, only viscosity of the material increased. The freezing point was therefore determined to be <-20°C.

Additional information

The temperature range of the equipment used to determine freezing point was -20°C to 150°C, the 1,1"-isopropylidenebis(ethylferrocene) sample was held at -20°C for 3 hours and no crystallization or freezing was observed, only viscosity of the material increased.

The freezing point was therefore determined to be <-20°C
