Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Disperse Red 054 has a low water solubility of 94 µg/l at 20 °C and a high logPow of 4.03 at 25 °C.

Due to the low solubility in water, Disperse Red 054 is poorly bioavailable to aquatic species and the aquatic compartment is unlikely relevant for toxicity.

Justification for classification

A safety net classification (cat. chronic 4) may apply to cases of poorly soluble substances for which no acute toxicity is expected at levels up to the water solubility and which are not rapidly degradable and have an experimentally determined BCF ≥ 500 (or, if absent, a logPow ≥ 4), indicating a potential to bioaccumulate. Classification in this category occurs unless other scientific evidence exists showing classification to be unnecessary. Such evidence includes chronic toxicity NOECs > water solubility or > 1 mg/l, or other evidence of rapid degradation in the environment than the ones provided by standard methos.
