Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2020
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Version / remarks:
TGA
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), PMCU Test Code 10309 - Using a Thermal Analysis Instrument, approximately 3 to 5 mg of a sample is placed in a sealed aluminum container with a 100-micron pinhole in the container lid. The container and sample are positioned on a micro balance where sample, pan and balance are encased within a furnace. Nitrogen flowing at 100 mL/min passes through the furnace and over the sample, pan and balance. The temperature of the furnace is increased so that the sample temperature increases from approximately room temperature to 500 degrees Celsius at a rate of 5 degrees per minute.
Other quality assurance:
ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)
Type of method:
other: Thermogravity Analysis
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Hitachi STA7200
