Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The toxicity of the substance to microorganisms was evaluated based on data on Similar Substance 01. Justification for Read Across is given in Section 13 of IUCLID.

The ability of the test substance to adversely affect aerobic microbial treatment plants was evaluated according to the OECD Guideline 209, EU method C.11 and ISO 8192. The test material was inoculated with the activated sludge (at 10, 100 and 1000 mg/l) for 3 hours after which the oxygen consumption was recorded. The highest concentration was tested in triplicate, lower concentrations consisted of one replicate. In addition, blank-controls and a nitrification control of the sludge were included. Furthermore, an abiotic control and the highest concentration with a nitrification inhibitor were tested.

2 % and an average of 3 % inhibition of the respiration rate at 10, 100 and 1000 mg/l, respectively, was observed. There was no oxygen uptake from abiotic processes and the results at 1000 mg/l with a nitrification inhibitor showed no heterotrophic inhibition of the respiration rate. The expected EC50 was above the highest concentration tested e.g. 1000 mg/l.

EC50 > 1000 mg/l (nominal)

NOEC=1000 mg/l (nominal)
