Notes from the test report: "The sample was observed to undergo an endothermic event from -14.8°C (23.5 J.g-1). An exothermic event was then observed to commence from 75.1°C which had a heat of decomposition of -21.1 J.g-1. A second exothermic event was then observed to commence from 142.8°C which had a heat of decomposition of -231.2 J.g-1. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400°C."

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The sample was observed to undergo an endothermic event from -14.8°C (23.5 J.g-1). An exothermic event was then observed to commence from 75.1°C which had a heat of decomposition of -21.1 J.g-1. A second exothermic event was then observed to commence from 142.8°C which had a heat of decomposition of -231.2 J.g-1. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400°C.
The exothermic decomposition is less than 500 J per g (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.1.4.3 (c)), so the material is not explosive, and it is less than 300 J per g (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.8.2.1) so it is not self-reactive.
The flash point is >80 oC. The DSC trace shows no dangerous events when heating to 140 oC.
