short-term toxicity to fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur
the study does not need to be conducted because a long-term aquatic toxicity study on fish is proposed to be conducted

Description of key information

Due to the poorly water solubility and the very adsorptive behavior of the registered substance, the available experimental short-term toxicity study cannot be used to establish a trend for the aquatic toxicity of the substance. Time of exposure and preparation of acute testing are not sufficient or proven relevant. A data waiver for the short-term toxicity to fish endpoint is therefore proposed due to the poorly water solubility of the substance and the testing proposal for a long-term toxicity study to fish on the registered substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
