In the temperatures/heat flow diagram there were two endothermic peaks at about 235 and 260 °C. It could not be decided which of thees peaks is the melting peak. Therefore a test was made with the capillary method. In the temperature range of 230 to 240 °C (heating rate 2 Klmin) no optical change was observed. At about 258 °C melting of the substance was observed. Thereby it was clear, that the peak at about 260 °C is the melting peak. For the determination of the melting point the second peak was interpreted.

Conclusions:
A melting point of 258 °C was determined.
Executive summary:

The test was performed as stipulated in EC Test Procedure A.1 'Melting/Freezing Temperature' – ASTM E 537 ‘Standard method for assessing the thermal stability of chemicals by methods of differential thermal analysis’. The Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was used. Solvent green 28 and reference crucible were subjected to the same controlled temperature program and the temperature were recorded electronically. The sample was heated in a glass crucible at a linear rate of 1 K/min from 210 °C up to 280 °C. A melting point of 258 °C was determined.
