Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

There was no acute toxicity of the saturated solution in the OECD 203 limit test. The 96-h LC50 of the test substance to Danio rerio was higher than the concentration of the saturated solution (which measured concentration was below 0.113 mg/L) under test conditions.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Under the conditions of the present study, an aqueous solution of nominal 100 mg/L of the test item revealed no aquatic toxicity in the test system. The 48-h EC50 was >2.64e-6 mg/L (nominal >100 mg/L) and, thus, could not be determined in this study.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Under the conditions of the present study, an aqueous solution of nominal 100 mg/L of the source item trans-2-[4'-[difluoro(3,4,5-trifluorophenoxy)methyl]-2,3',5'-trifluoro[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl]-5-butyl-1,3-dioxane revealed no toxicity to algae. The 72-h EC50 for growth rate and yield were >0.00022 mg/L (nominal >100 mg/L) and, thus, could not be determined in this study.
