The median particle size D50 (D (v, 0.5): 50 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions were:

1st test series: D50 = 112.5 µm

2nd test series: D50 = 111.4 µm

The average of the median particle size D50 was: D50 = 112.0 µm

The particle size D10 (D (v, 0.1): 10 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions were:

1st test series: D10 = 17.1 µm

2nd test series: D10 = 16.5 µm

The average of the particle size D10 was: D10 = 16.8 µm

The particle size D90 (D (v, 0.9): 90 % of particle volume or particle mass with lower particle diameter) deduced from these distributions were:

1st test series: D90 = 292.6 µm

2nd test series: D90 = 292.3 µm

The average of the particle size D90 was: D90 = 292.5 µm

The particle size distribution showed a monomodal distribution. The maximum was observed at approximately 200 µm and a shoulder at approximately 4 µm.

Conclusions:
The median particle size D50 of the test item was 112.0 μm.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to CIPAC MT 187 and ISO 13320 to determine the particle size distribution of the test item. The particle size distribution was determined using laser diffraction. Two test series were performed with the test item. The test has a median particle size D50 = 112.0 µm, which was determined by laser diffraction measurement.

Description of key information

The median particle size D50 of the test item was 112.0 μm.

Additional information

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 110, OPPTS 830.7520 and ISO 13320 to determine the particle size distribution of the test item. The particle size distribution was determined using laser diffraction. Two test series were performed with the test item. The test has a median particle size D50 = 215.4 µm, which was determined by laser diffraction measurement (reference 4.5-1).
