Individual results

The vapour pressure was measured with thedynamicmethod in the temperature rangeof 10 °C to 47 °C. The measured vapour pressures at the corresponding temperatures are listed in Table 1.

Table 1: Measured vapour pressures and corresponding temperatures

Temperature (°C) Vapour pressure (hPa)
10.4 200
14.7 250
18.4 300
25.0 400
30.6 500
39.7 700
47.0 900
43.6 800
35.6 600
22.2 350

The vapour pressures for 20, 25 and 50 °C are calculated using the Antoine constants A, B and C as shown in the following:

Table 2: Antoine parameters and extrapolated vapour pressures

T (°C) p (hPa) log p (hPa) =
A + B/(C+T[°C])
20 320 A = 5.346
25 398 B = -411.1
50 984 C = 124.7
Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 320 hPa (20 °C), 398 hPa (25 °C) and 984 hPa (50 °C) using the dynamic method.
Executive summary:

A study was performed according to OECD TG 104 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, method A.4 in order to determine the vapour pressure of the test item by using the dynamic method. The vapour pressure was measured by determining the boiling point of the test item at various specified pressures between about 10 and 1000 hPa. A constant temperature under constant pressure indicated that the boiling point was reached. Different vapour pressures were measured within the temperature range of 10 to 47 °C. The vapour pressures of the test item at 20, 25 and 50 °C were extrapolated by using the Antoine constants with following results: 320 hPa for 20 °C, 398 hPa for 25 °C and 984 hPa for 50 °C.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 320 hPa (20 °C), 398 hPa (25 °C) and 984 hPa (50 °C) using the dynamic method.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
320 hPa
