Description of key information
The solubilities at 20°C were found as follows:
- Solubilities determined by Cr-content:
5 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.1 g/L at pH 7
24 mg/L with a loading rate of 1.0 g/L at pH 6.6
- Solubilities determined by UV/Vis:
11 mg/L with a loading rate of 0.1 g/L at pH 7
52 mg/L with a loading rate of 1.0 g/L at pH 6.6

The determination was carried out by flask method according to OECD Guideline 105.
The test item is a complex mixture. Every constituent contributes to a different degree to overall solubility, depending on its own individual solubility and its mass fraction in the test item.
In addition to the determination via UV/VIS spectroscopy, the water solubility was therefore also investigated via determination of dissolved amounts of chromium, nitrogen and carbon, the main elements contained in the test item. The different results show that the water solubility of the test item is dependent on the method of analysis and the loading rate.
