Executive summary:

A study was undertaken to determine the freezing point of test item 1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)thio]propan-2-ol. The test was performed according to OECD Guideline 102 (Melting Point / Melting Range) using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). No freezing point of 1 -[(2-hydroxyethyl)thio]propan-2-ol was observed from -60 ℃ and, therefore, the freezing point of the substance is < -60 ℃.

Melting point of substance 1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)thio]propan-2-ol is < -60 ℃. This result has been obtained from a key study that was undertaken according to OECD Guideline 201 (Melting Point / Melting Range). A reliability of 1 has subsequently been assigned and the result of this key study is proposed as the end point value.
