Additional information

The registered (parent) substance 1 -[3 -(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]urea (CAS No. 23843-64-3) hydrolyses in contact with water to the corresponding hydrolysis products [3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyl]urea and methanol. On the basis of available data, the parent substance has a low volatility, low adsorption potential and is not expected to biodegrade. Therefore, if released to the environment, the substance is expected to hydrolyse rapidly and its silanol hydrolysis product is expected to be found mainly in the aquatic compartment.
