Additional information

One ready biodegradability test is available for C12-14AS Mg (CAS 90583-23-6). The study (BASF, 1992) was done according to OECD 301E guideline under GLP conditions. As inoculum, a non-adapted sewage from a predominately domestic plant was used. Biodegradation based on DOC removal reached between 93 and 99% and therefore the substance is considered to be readily biodegradable.

Moreover, in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 a read-across to structurally related substance: C12-14AS Na (CAS 85586-07-8) was conducted.

A supporting GLP study with CAS 85586-07-8 was performed according to OECD guideline 301 D (Werner 1996). Activated, non-adapted domestic sludge was used as inoculum. The biodegradation after 28 days reached >90% (based on O2 consumption).

It can be concluded that C12-14AS Mg (CAS 90583-23-6) is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
