Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
auto-flammability
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Justification for type of information:
According to REACH Regulation (Annex VII, column 2), the study on auto flammability does not need to be done if the melting point of a solid is < 160°C. Whereas the test item is described as a hygroscopic solid in the certificate of analysis, it is marketed by the manufacturer and lead registrant exclusively as a liquid. While showing an experimentally determined melting point in the range from 130 to 148°C at atmospheric pressure, no critical behaviour at all could be observed in the flammability test according to UN Test N.1. Furthermore, the test item exhibits no reactive chemical groups in its molecule that would constitute any critical oxidising or explosive properties. Due to these reasons, the endpoint auto flammability properties is not considered of primary relevance for the test item and an experimental study is not deemed necessary.
