Preliminary screening test results

In the preliminary screening test, the test flame was applied for over two minutes. The heated part of the sample melts almost immediately. After about thirty seconds were observed a yellow flame and the generation of black smoke. The molten sample expanded on the plate and separated from the powder train. When the test flame was removed, the molten sample continued to burn for 65 seconds. The combustion was complete. No propagation was observed because of the absence of contact between the molten sample and the powder train. The preliminary screening test was performed in duplicate and the similar observations were obtained in both test.

The test item should not be considered as readily flammable and no further burning rate test was required.

Conclusion

According to test method A.10, the test item should not be considered as readily flammable.
