Description of key information

Hydroxyethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate has a high water solubility (51 g/L at 20 deg C), a vapour pressure of 5.5E-11 hPa at 20 deg C and a low log Koc (0.16). The substance will be found mainly in the aquatic compartment. Due to its low log Kow (0.24 at 20 deg C), it is not suspected of bioaccumulation. The substance is not readily biodegradable in a ready biodegradation test. Hydroxyethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate is unstable under the conditions of a hydrolysis test with half-life of 62, 13.9, 5.3 hours at 20 deg C and pH 5, 7 and 9 respectively.
