Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: The test in the 1 L wire basket at 140 °C showed a self-heating of the test item with a temperature increase of < 60 K within 24 hours.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
According to the results of the tests on the self-heating in the Bowes-Cameron-Cage Test (UN-Test N.4) the test item is classified as follows:
UN Transport Regulation: The test item has not to be classified as self-heating substance in Class 4, Division 4.2.
GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.11): The test item has not to be classified as self-heating substance.
Executive summary:

The self-ignition temperature of the test item was investigated in the Bowes-Cameron-Cage Test. In this test,a self-heating of the test item was observed as demonstrated by a measured temperature increase in the 1 L wire basket of < 60 K within 24 h of exposure at 140° C.

According to the results of the tests on the self-heating in the Bowes-Cameron-Cage Test (UN-Test N.4) the test item has to be classified as follows:

UN Transport Regulation: The test item has not to be classified as self-heating substance in Class 4, Division 4.2.

GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.11): The test item has not to be classified as self-heating substance.
