- Basis for effect:
- inhibition of total respiration
- Results with reference substance (positive control):
- EC20 (30 min) = 2.0 mg/L
EC50 (30 min) = 10.4 mg/L
EC20 (180 min) = 0.8 (0.6-0.9) mg/L
EC5 0 (180 min) = 7.0 (6.6-7.5 mg/L) - Validity criteria fulfilled:
- no
- Remarks:
- The validity criterion of an oxygen uptake rate ≥ 20 mg O2/L of dry weight sludge per hour was not fulfilled (rate 19.6 mg O2/L). However, since the preliminary screening of the respiration rate by the inoculum was valid, the test is considered valid.
- Conclusions:
- The effect of the test item on the total respiration (covering respiration by nitrifying organisms and respiration by heterotrophic microorganisms) of activated sludge microorganisms was tested according to OECD guideline 209 and ISO 8192.
The following results were obtained:
EC20 (30 min) > 200 mg/L
EC50 (30 min) > 200 mg/L
EC20 (180 min) > 200 mg/L
EC50 (180 min) > 200 mg/L - Executive summary:
The toxicity to microorganisms of the substance reaction product of the esterification of diglycerol with decanoic acid was studied in an activated sludge, respiration inhibition test carried out in compliance with GLP. The effect of the test item (PGLCP 102 KC) on the total respiration (covering respiration by nitrifying organisms and respiration by heterotrophic microorganisms) of activated sludge microorganisms was tested according to OECD guideline 209 and ISO 8192. The following concentrations were applied: 0 (control), 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 mg/L.
The following results were obtained:
EC20 (30 min) > 200 mg/L
EC50 (30 min) > 200 mg/L
EC20 (180 min) > 200 mg/L
EC50 (180 min) > 200 mg/L
