Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to green algae was assessed in a supporting test according to OECD 201. A 72 hours limit test was performed using a concentration of 100 mg/L. As the test substance was coloured, a modification of the test guideline was used (European commission recommendations, Vienna, January 1996). Applying this modification it was shown that the growth inhibition in the toxicity test was not only due to light absorption caused by the colouring of the test medium. As a result, an inhibition rate of 13 % was identified. Therefore, the EC50 (72 h) based on growth rate was determined to be greater than 100 mg/L. The validity of the study was regarded as not assignable.
