The substance is characterized by a water solubility of 559 mg/L (at 20 °C), a log Koc of 2.19 and a Henry´s law constant of 2.41 m3Pa/mol. Based on the high water solubility and moderate log Koc the substance will preferentially distribute in the water compartment but will also partly bind on organic matter of soils and sediment. Since the substance is readily biodegradable by microorganisms (68% after 28 d) it will be extensively eliminated in sewage treatment plants. In case of release into the environment, the substance is not expected to persist. Due to the low Henrys law constant the evaporation to the atmosphere and subsequent transport and distribution through the atmospheric compartment is considered to be low.
