Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The density and relative density of 4-Amino-m-cresol was 1.2432 g/mL and 1.2432 (dimensionless) respectively at 20°C, measured by pycnometer method (OECD 109).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The density of 4-Amino-m-cresol was determined following the OECD 109 test guideline (Density of Liquids and Solids) with pycnometer.

The pycnometers were thermostatized at 20˚C, and water equivalent (WE) of the pycnometer was determined. 3.7 - 4.3 g of the test material was placed into the pycnometers, filled up freshly boiled and cooled distilled water. The pycnometer was replaced at 20°C, until thermal equilibrium was reached. The filled pycnometers were weighed and the density of the substance was calculated. Four replicates were employed in this study.

The density of 4-Amino-m-cresol was calculated to be 1.2432 g/mL at 20°C. The specific gravity was calculated to be 1.25 at 20°C.

The relative density (D204) of 4-Amino-m-cresol was 1.2432.
