Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Following a single administration of THPS by the oral route, approximately 90% is absorbed.

Excretion is principally via the urine, faeces and exhaled air.

The principal metabolites are considered to be THPO and formaldehyde (three studies are available, Kr.2).
Dermal absorption is relatively low and is dependent upon concentration, being 1.3% for the concentrate and 4.8% for the 10% dilution (one study was available, Kr. 1)
The rapid excretion of THPS and its lack of potential for bioaccumulation indicate that acute data are sufficient to predict toxicokinetics on repeated exposure (waiving was proposed for repeated exposure).
