Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The stucture of the substance does not containing any groups associated with explosivity then a negative result is likely and no furtther data is necessary to conclude for CLP and risk assessment purposes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The non assignable report from Harrison (1993) contains background information regarding the request from US EPA agency for and granting of data waivers for product chemistry information for THPS 75%, specifically for flammability, explodability and miscibility.

For explodability, it was concluded that the active substance THPS is a water-based, non-volatile salt and that an Accelerated Rate Calorimeter (ARC) showed minor decomposition occuring at 159-180 °C (Harrison E, 1993).

Based on this expert judgement, it is assumed that no experimental test on explosivity is necessary and

that the substance does not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Annex I section 2.13.

.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The stucture of the substance does not contain any groups associated with explosivity then a negative result is likely and no further data is necessary to conclude for classification that the substance is non explosive.
