Administrative data

Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
15 Jun - 12 Nov 1982
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions

Sampling and analysis

Details on sampling:
- Sampling intervals/frequency for test organisms: Took two fish of each test concentration for analtic at Week 2, 4, 6 and 8
- Sampling intervals/frequency for test medium samples: Took 25 mL test medium for concentrations determination at Day 2, 5, 10, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30, 33, 38, 40, 44, 47, 51 and 54
- Sample storage conditions before analysis: no storage
- Details on sampling and analysis of test organisms and test media samples (e.g. sample preparation, analytical methods):
- 2 fish were sampled during the uptake phase. After measurement of weight and length, fish was freeze-dried, minced, dissolved in dechlorinated water, urea added, distillated and dissolved in diethyl ether. Sodium chloride was added in diethyl ether layer. After repeated washing with diethyl ether, diethyl ether layer was filtered for dewatering for GC-MS sample.
- After sampling of the test water, sodium chloride was added. After washing with diethyl ether, the diethyl ether layer was filtered for dewatering and concentrated for GC-MS sample.
