Additional information

According to Annex VII of REACH, the study does not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur, for instance if the substance is highly insoluble in water or the substance is unlikely to cross biological membranes.

During the validation of analytical method in ISO medium for daphnia, the substance was found to be below the limit of quantification of the validated HLPC method.

A long-term aquatic toxicity study on daphnia shall be considered if the substance is poorly water soluble. As the amount of substance actually present in test medium could not be determined, a long term study was not run.

Overall, the significance of aquatic compartment for toxicity of Disperse Red 073 was considered as limited.
